Human Rights Council
The UNHRC addresses the most pressing human rights issues and violations worldwide, with a focus on investigating and shedding light on emergency situations as they arise. A key responsibility for the UNHCR is the identification of new human rights issues and setting out ways in which threats to civil freedoms can be prevented.
The UN is currently at a bulwark as disparity continues to grow between the human rights regimes worldwide, coupled with humanitarian crises in the Middle East and elsewhere, and these situations have fostered an increased urgency for action. The UNHCR is known for its heated and passionate discussions about issues close to heart and is a committee for delegates of all experience levels.
