UN Development Programme
In order to enable nations to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations, UNEP assesses global and climate trends and environmental conditions, develops and funds environment projects and instruments particularly in the developing world, and brings the latest data and tech to scientists and policy makers.
While the UNEP takes a more general role in managing on-the-ground international environmental action, it does have a role in creating other bodies in which member states can agree to take action, like the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change under which the Paris Agreement was forged. Delegates with an interest in environmental advocacy can debate high emitters and encounter many rewarding challenges to overcome in UNEP.
